Fantastic Stay!

great locationfriendly welcometemperature control
I found the location superb, near the train station and many restaurants! The large bed was comfortable. The staff provided a friendly welcome.
I noticed the warm rooms lack individual temperature control, though a fan was available. Additional control would be better.
Facilities

The hotel includes well kept rooms in a historical building, upgraded with sliding double glazing that effectively soundproofs the space, and near to the Westgate railway station. The rooms are equipped with excellent bathrooms and showers, and toiletries are available.

historic building stay

large roomcomfy bedexcellent showersecurity fence
i found the room quite large, with a very comfy bed. the bathroom and shower were excellent. the building itself has great kerb appeal, i'd say.
getting into my room late was a faff because i had to go through a side metal fence that needed a code to unlock. then, i had to walk around a dark courtyard to another door, using another code. it was a bit much!
Location
9/10
the location is convenient for accessing the town centre and its attractions. it is near the train station and the cathedral, both being within easy walking distance. this makes it easy to explore the area without a car.

mixed feelings about this stay

security fenceconstant noise
The lack of immediate assistance at 1 am was concerning (i was locked out). i had to navigate a dark courtyard with a builder's security fence secured by a padlock. inside, the constant noise from what i assume was the beer chiller disrupted sleep. The staff mentioned all rooms had this issue so it seems unavoidable.
